Catch the missed Air Bus!!!!
The airlines industry has long been in news because of the mismanagement and the games played by them for saving themselves from the turmoil which the entire world is facing. But, at this point of time, do we really need to run behind the situation in such a way and take such decisions which could have been taken long back to rectify the problems that we all are facing now. It's well said that the policies have been drafted to serve one particular airline and nothing in general has ever been drafted. In due course of recession, when the money is not rotating in the market, the airlines industry is trying its best to survive. The Indian airlines is about to give back its leased airplanes whose contract is about to expire. Jet airways has removed its Bussiness class seats with the Economy class in order to carry more people and generate some revenue which can bring the company from sinking. In this run, our famous "Flying good times" is also thinking to revamp and bring the changes but nothing has yet been done. Now, the best part to see is that all such changes have been done when the recession attacked instead such measures must have been undetaken in "Good Times" so that we could have "Flyed". All such measures that have now been taken could have been acknowledged earlier which would have prevented the airlines industry to be in a great loss. And claims will not have been thus made on the government making it sole responsible for the airlines industry loss.

ReplyDeleteHi Shubham,
ReplyDeleteNice write up !!
On the similar lines trying to extend the concerns prevailing in the market now a days. We tend to do this where we relax when we have "Good Times" trying to get more profit as the market is fetching more from the current business. A thought leadership is missing, to think beyond the current situation to anticipate the risks and take preventive measures and cope up with the worst scenarios. It applies not only with the airline industries but also to many other industries which is evident enough when observed closely with the case study with major companies for example GM, AIG, etc ... Best example I can think of is, about my company where, core beliefs are not follow when the company was growing very rapidly, as needed by the market and today it's been a real pain managing such a big workforce. It's all driven by the market which needs good thought process to anticipate things well in advance.
Once again, nice topic & nice write up. Enjoyed reading it. :)
